Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On May 8, 2007, Luminent Mortgage Capital, Inc. announced that subsequent to March 31, 2007 and through May 7, 2007, it has completed the repurchase of 2,194,900 shares of its common stock at an average price of $8.17, which is significantly below its book value per share as of March 31, 2007. Furthermore, Luminent's Board of Directors has authorized an additional 5,000,000 share common stock repurchase program. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
