SIMMONS FIRST NATIONAL CORPORATION DECLARES $0.16 PER SHARE DIVIDEND

Pine Bluff, AR -- Simmons First National Corporation’s (NASDAQ NM: SFNC) Board of Directors declared a regular $0.16 per share quarterly cash dividend payable January 3, 2006, to shareholders of record December 15, 2005. This dividend represents a $0.01 per share, or 6.7% increase over the previous quarter.

Simmons First National Corporation is a financial holding company with eight community banks in Pine Bluff, Lake Village, Jonesboro, Rogers, Searcy, Russellville, El Dorado, and Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Company's eight banks conduct financial operations from 80 offices, of which 78 are financial centers, in 44 communities.
