In conformity with the Disclosure & Rule 5.6.1 Transparency Directive BHP Billiton Plc announces the following:
As at 31 October 2007, BHP Billiton Plc's issued capital, including treasury shares held by BHP Billiton Plc, consisted of 2,281,159,062 Ordinary shares of US$0.50 each. Of these, 24,265,516 Ordinary shares are held in treasury by BHP Billiton Plc on 31 October 2007 and therefore the total number of voting rights in the Company is 2,256,893,546.
The figure of 2,256,893,546 Ordinary shares may be used by shareholders to calculate if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the share capital of BHP Billiton Plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
