Item 8.01 Other Events.

On July 8, 2008, Newpark Resources, Inc. issued a press release providing an update on the proposed sale of its U. S. Environmental Services business to a subsidiary of CCS Corporaton and announcing that the proposed sale is unlikely to occur before the end of July 2008, as previously announced, as a result of delays in the regulatory review process. The press release is attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
