Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On January 24, 2014, Bassett Furniture Industries, Incorporated entered into Employment Continuity Agreements with the following executive officers: J. Michael Daniel, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Bruce R. Cohenour, Senior Vice President, Sales and Merchandising. The Employment Continuity Agreements are as described in the Form 8-K filed January 28, 2009, dated January 27, 2009 (which is incorporated herein by reference), and, as set forth therein, entitle Messrs. Daniel and Cohenour to certain lump sum cash payments, twelve months continued health insurance and three months outplacement assistance under certain conditions following a change in control.
