Item 5. Other Events.
During 2002, the French government passed legislation related to various social programs, including the 35-hour workweek, minimum working wage and social contribution subsidies. At the time of filing our 2002 Annual Report to Shareholders it was difficult to estimate the impact of these changes on our future financial results. We estimated at the time that the maximum possible impact of the legislation would be a reduction of €10 million in gross profit in each of the second half of 2003 and the first half of 2004.
The rules surrounding these social programs have now been finalized and we do not anticipate that there will be a material impact on our financial results in either 2003 or 2004.
