Item 8.01. Other Events.
On September 21, 2011, Apache Corporation announced that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries,
Apache North Sea Limited, agreed to acquire the assets of ExxonMobil Corporation’s Mobil North Sea
LLC, including the Beryl field and related properties, for $1.75 billion. A copy of the press
release announcing this acquisition is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by
reference herein.
