Across the South East, Fly by night roofing companies, who show up after major & minor weather events have become a big problem for Florida property owners. As seen in recent news, many of these companies send trained salesmen into storm affected areas and convince homeowners to unknowingly commit insurance fraud. These companies sign lengthy contracts with property owners that entitle them to the proceeds paid out by the homeowner's insurance policy. When insurance companies balk, the contractors sue. The avalanche of lawsuits fueled by these roofing scams has plunged Florida into a property insurance crisis. When the time comes to commence work on these properties, oftimes unlicensed and/or uninsured crews show up and improperly repair or replace roofing systems, if they show up at all.

"We deal with storm chaser contractors all the time. We just had a hailstorm and a bunch of companies showed up knocking on doors & signing Assignment of Benefits contracts with people. This locks them in a contract and then the companies are gone and onto the next storm." said the company's founder, Richie Colletti.

This 2022, Leak Busters Roof repair, aims to help homeowners avoid these scams and repair storm related damage to their properties at an affordable price and without the headache. "Most Companies sell a job then subcontract for the cheapest work. Our work is done in-house or through trusted partnerships with companies we've thoroughly vetted and have done work with in the past. That allows us to provide a consistent level of quality and experience for our customers." Added Richie

The company has built a reputation among Florida's Treasure Coast as a contractor that the community can trust. This March, 2022, Leak Busters noticed a member of the community in need and decided to help. The St Lucie Sheriff's Police Athletic League (PAL), a local non profit youth organization, purchased a new building to serve as the center of operations for their foundation. The building's roof was outdated, damaged and leaking. The St Lucie Sheriff's Department reached out to many contractors in the area but found it difficult to even obtain pricing for the repairs due to the complex nature of the project. In an effort to support the foundation, Leak Busters offered to and immediately sealed the building's roof using temporary materials at no charge. Shortly after, the company pulled a permit and started the process of tearing off and replacing the structure's 4000 square ft roof. Leak Busters Roof Repair did not request or accept payment for their work on the center. Keith Pearson, Lieutenant with the St Lucie Sheriff's Office said, "Not only did he replace a fifty to sixty thousand dollar roof in record time and at no charge, he also connected us to his network who has helped us restore the rest of the building. Everybody knows Richie, he still stops by to say hi to the kids and volunteer. The whole process from start to finish took about 2 weeks and the roof passed county inspection with flying colors."
