The recognition was presented on April 22, 2026. In addition, Spillmann received his International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) 3rd Degree certification on October 31, 2025, under the Rocian Gracie Jr. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu system.
Throughout his martial arts career, Spillmann has earned advanced rankings in several disciplines, including TaeKwonDo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, HapKiDo, Karate, and Judo. He has also trained in boxing, Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts.
Spillmann began training in martial arts at a young age and later pursued instruction and competitive development under several internationally recognized martial arts teachers, including Supreme Grandmaster Young Kun Kim, Rocian Gracie Jr., Grandmaster Suk Jun Kim, and Grandmaster Kwang Sik Myung.

According to Spillmann, martial arts played a significant role in shaping his personal development and long-term teaching philosophy.
"Martial arts became more than physical training for me," Spillmann said. "It taught me discipline, perseverance, respect, and the importance of helping others grow."
Over the course of his career, Spillmann has operated multiple martial arts academies in the United States and internationally. Since relocating to Gallatin, Tennessee in 2012, he and his family have continued teaching through Global Martial Arts USA, offering programs in traditional and sport TaeKwonDo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, HapKiDo, Wing Chun, and Tai Chi.
The academy focuses on martial arts instruction, leadership development, self-defense training, and youth education programs for students of varying ages and experience levels.
Global Martial Arts USA (GMA) also offers after-school care, pick-up from local schools in Gallatin, TN, and a K-12 Homeschooling Tutorial program 5 days per week.
In addition to teaching, Spillmann has participated in fundraising and community outreach initiatives over the years, including charity events supporting organizations such as D.A.R.E. and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He has also conducted seminars for law enforcement personnel, military groups, corporations, and community organizations.
Spillmann's wife, Joanne Spillmann, and their children are also involved in martial arts instruction and educational programming. Together, the family has developed youth leadership and after-school initiatives designed to support confidence, discipline, and personal development.

Spillmann said the recent recognition represents another milestone in a lifelong commitment to martial arts and mentorship.
"I continue to view martial arts as a pathway for learning, leadership, and personal growth," Spillmann said. "There is always more to learn and more opportunities to help others."
