TEDxFolsom Announces Speakers For Reimagine Event January 21, 2023

Folsom, California – TEDxFolsom is an independently organized event licensed by TED, which will feature local voices and leading experts under REIMAGINE. TEDxFolsom is thrilled to announce the speaker lineup for this inaugural live-person event at the Harris Center for the Arts.

The theme for TEDxFolsom is REIMAGINE. TEDxFolsom hopes speakers, collaborators, partners, and attendees will collaborate to REIMAGINE concepts that creatively improve our collective future. Reimagining something is the convergence of the “as-is” and new possibilities. The fundamental goal of TEDxFolsom is to cultivate and spread great ideas within our community and beyond. TEDxFolsom aims to provide a platform where local and global thinkers, visionaries, and innovators will both receive and offer inspiration.

TEDxFolsom believes thinking and discussing are inseparable. All great ideas deserve talk time – beginning the moment they take hold in our minds – as they evolve and expand over time. TEDxFolsom wants exciting concepts to proliferate throughout our community resulting in a matrix of individual perspectives strengthened through robust discussion.

TEDxFolsom is dedicated to providing a variety of voices and topics that will garner deeper discussion after the event. This dynamic speaker lineup for the inaugural event at the Harris Center allows TEDxFolsom to accomplish this goal.

The speakers for TEDxFolsom include the following:

Dr. David Lubarsky

Dr. Regina F. Lark

Dr. Tamu Green

Imari Tuakli

Nathan A. Stuck

Priyam Baruah

Julian Sarafian

Kellita Maloof

Jess Michaels

Kim Stevens

Jeremy Jacobson

Keenan Davis

“TEDxFolsom will serve as a platform to engage and elevate voices for change, progress, innovation, and abundance, to shape and reshape how our community can inspire others and join together. I aim to grow the impact of TEDxFolsom over the next five years to help us reach 10,000 individuals in Northern California through our live events and 2 million global citizens through our videos, showcasing all our special community has to offer,” stated Matthew Loughran, TEDxFolsom Executive Director.

Join TEDxFolsom on January 21, 2023, to explore and experience the opportunities and possibilities to reimagine our human and societal experiences. Be inspired by thought-provoking ideas larger than ourselves and help reframe our vision of what is possible. The speakers will shake up our concepts of what is and what can be through the theme of REIMAGINE. About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED’s annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, and made available free on TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.

TED’s open and free initiatives for spreading ideas include TED.com, where new TED Talk videos are posted daily; the TED Translators Program, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from thousands of volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed; the annual million-dollar TED Prize, which funds exceptional individuals with a “wish,” or idea, to create change in the world; TEDx, which provides licenses to thousands of individuals and groups who host local, self-organized TED-style events around the world; and the TED Fellows program, which selects innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
