Travelers Institute to Host Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel for a Discussion of Geopolitical Risks

The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), will host a webinar on Wednesday, March 16, titled “Global Hot Spots and Geopolitical Risks with Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.” The event will explore how diplomatic and security challenges can potentially impact the business community.

“Secretary Hagel is a leading voice in international relations and has shaped foreign policy and geopolitical discourse throughout his career – from his two terms as a Republican U.S. senator to his tenure as secretary of defense under President Barack Obama,” said Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers. “We are pleased to have him share his expertise on how the global issues we face may affect businesses of all sizes.”

Woodward will moderate the session, which will take place at 1 p.m. ET. Secretary Hagel will provide his perspective on current events impacting the United States, including the conflict in Ukraine, U.S.-China relations, the supply chain crisis, cybersecurity and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Hagel added, “We are living at the most dangerous time in the world since World War II – a defining time.”

The session, which is part of the Travelers Institute® Wednesdays with Woodward® series, is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in registering can sign up here.
