The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, and New Jersey American Water, announced today the Foundation has provided $25,000 and, in addition, New Jersey American Water has provided $5,000 to The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation’s Get Ready Fest® to help fight food insecurity, supporting 1,000 pre-identified households in the City of Camden.

Get Ready Fest® is The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation’s (“TMJF”) signature community outreach event to build awareness of food insecurity and other major issues within vulnerable communities. Families are provided resources in the areas of education, career readiness and employment, housing, financial literacy, health and wellness, senior and veteran services and COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. A capstone of the event is the TMJF Pop-up Grocery store that provides families with 40 pounds of food to make breakfast, lunch and dinner for up to 10 days.

The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation has served over 10,000 families (approximately 40,000+ individuals) to date.
