The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has initiated an investigation into Transamerica Life Insurance Company with respect to their recent data breach. A recent report from the Attorney General of South Carolina states that the WebTPA Employer Services was compromised due to a cyber security attack that was discovered on December 28, 2023, after it detected unusual activity within its computer network. The company secured its systems and launched an investigation that confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access its network between April 18, 2023, and April 23, 2023. This included files containing confidential information belonging to Transamerica Life Insurance Company customers. The following information was possibly accessed: individuals name and Social Security number.
