Through August 10, online donations can be made to United Through Reading’s Virtual Book Drive hosted by the credit union. Book titles include financial literacy and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging topics. A $24 donation puts approximately three books into the hands of military kids.

“For the past 24 years, our partnership with Navy Federal Credit Union has been a cornerstone of our mission to support military families,” said Dr. Sally Ann Zoll, United Through Reading's Interim CEO. “This collaboration is particularly significant, as it allows us to provide financial literacy-themed books to military children, empowering them with essential skills for their future. Financial education is crucial for developing responsible and informed citizens, and we are proud to work with Navy Federal on this initiative. We are incredibly grateful to Navy Federal for hosting a Virtual Book Drive on our behalf, which will further enhance our efforts. Thank you for more than two decades of unwavering support and dedication to making a lasting impact on the military community.”

In addition to volunteer support, Navy Federal has donated nearly $250,000 in philanthropic giving to support United Through Reading’s mission over the course of the longstanding partnership. Navy Federal knows there is no age limit on building financial wellness in our communities, and partnering with United Through Reading is one of many ways the credit union supports military families on their financial and educational pathways.

“Our partnership with United Through Reading is a special one,” said Brandi Gomez, military spouse and Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility at Navy Federal. “They help us connect with military families in need and emphasize the value of reading and financial education at all ages. When books are available in our servicemembers’ homes, the whole family benefits. That’s what our Virtual Book Drive is all about!”

Help build summer reading lists for military children by donating to the Virtual Book Drive, a cause that will benefit military families for years to come.
