Go Behind the Science During Fusion Energy Week: Tour the DIII-D National Fusion Facility, the Nation’s Largest Operating Fusion Device, and See the Future of Energy in Action

General Atomics & DIII-D National Fusion Facility:

WHAT:
Fusion is the process that powers the sun and stars. At the DIII-D National Fusion Facility, a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science user facility operated by General Atomics, scientists are working to bring that same power to Earth as a source of abundant, sustainable energy.

During Fusion Energy Week in May, the public is invited behind the scenes for a look inside this world-class research facility. Guests will see how scientists and engineers are tackling one of the biggest energy challenges of our time and get an up-close look at the powerful machine driving that work. At the heart of DIII-D is a tokamak, a device that uses powerful magnetic fields to hold superhot plasma in place so researchers can advance the technology needed to produce fusion energy.

This is a rare opportunity to step inside a leading national research facility and experience the science that’s shaping the future of energy. Don’t miss this chance to see the future of energy up close.
