Nashville Honors the late Larysa Jaye With Mayor's Proclamation at CMA Fest Kickoff

By: PRLog
Larysa's contribution to Nashville's music culture earns her one of the city's highest civic honors.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. & KANSAS CITY, Kan. - May 29, 2025 - PRLog -- Nashville Honors Larysa Jaye With Mayor's Proclamation
Beloved country-soul artist to be remembered in an event led by Country In Color & Nashlanta Music Group.

On June 5, 2025, the City of Nashville will honor the late singer-songwriter Larysa Jaye with an official mayoral proclamation during the CMA Fest Kickoff Show, presented by Country In Color and Nashlanta Music Group. The event will be held at Tin Roof on Broadway from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, celebrating Jaye's profound impact on Nashville's music scene.

Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Larysa Jaye's musical journey led her to Nashville, becoming a trailblazing country-soul artist. Her voice and authenticity resonated, earning her a weekly residency at Justin Timberlake's 12/30 Club, the only Black woman with such a distinction on Broadway at the time. Jaye's performances also graced stages at Nashville's BNA Airport and in front of over 30,000 fans during a Nashville SC game.

Jaye was a devoted mother of four, balancing her family life with her passion for music. Her commitment to her craft earned her recognition from the National Museum of African American Music's Emerging Artist and the Key to the City of Sikeston, Missouri, for her philanthropic efforts.

To preserve her musical legacy, Jaye's brother, author and entrepreneur C M James, founded C M Jaye Music LLC. The label aims to continue Jaye's music and vision by supporting emerging country-soul artists.

The CMA Fest Kickoff Show honoring Larysa Jaye is free and open to the public. Attendees can look forward to live performances by artists such as Brei Carter with ElektroHorse, Elsie, Skyelor Anderson, Kenny Peagler, Steve Cortez, Alyssia Dominguez, and Ja'Cee. The event will also feature special recognitions for Shannon Sanders (BMI), Robert "Bob" Franklin, and T. Morgan Kyle (Tin Roof), with presentations by Eric Byford (Country In Color), Gene Andrews (Nashlanta Music Group), and special guest Big V of Nappy Roots.

Whether you're a Nashville local or visiting for CMA Fest, be part of something truly special. Join us as we honor the life and legacy of Larysa Jaye with music, memories, and community. This free event is a powerful way to kick off your CMA Fest experience, right in the heart of downtown, where her voice once echoed and her spirit still lives on.
