Everyone that took part voted 'Yes'.
Committee Chair, Grant Deppen said, "Assessing the opinions of our membership on the April 21st Redistricting Amendment is important because our members are a cross-section of the community. People from every ward of our city participated in the unanimous vote."
"As this election has gone on, it's become more important for us to take a clear stand on the issue in order to combat the coordinated disinformation campaign that targeted voters, specifically Black voters, with misleading mailers and advertisements, in Norfolk and across Virginia," Deppen said.
"Ultimately, I'm pleased that our vote aligns with the support to vote 'Yes' from trusted figures like former President Obama, Governor Abigail Spanberger, and every Democrat that represents Virginia in the US Senate and House, and Norfolk in the Virginia General Assembly," Deppen added.
The Norfolk City Democratic Committee calls for all voters to vote 'YES' on the Redistricting Amendment. Voters can cast a ballot now during early voting, or on election day, Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Individuals or groups interested in volunteering to support the Amendment can volunteer at www.norfolkdemocrats.org.
