Live Nation (LYV) Reports Q3: Everything You Need To Know Ahead Of Earnings

Live events and entertainment company Live Nation (NYSE: LYV) will be reporting results this Tuesday afternoon. Here’s what you need to know.

Live Nation beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 3.4% last quarter, reporting revenues of $7.01 billion, up 16.3% year on year. It was a strong quarter for the company, with a solid beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates and an impressive beat of analysts’ adjusted operating income estimates. It reported 14,292 events, down 2.6% year on year.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Live Nation’s revenue to grow 12.2% year on year to $8.59 billion, a reversal from the 6.2% decrease it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $1.49 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Live Nation has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates three times over the last two years.

Looking at Live Nation’s peers in the consumer discretionary segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Nike delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 1.1%, beating analysts’ expectations by 6.5%, and The Real Brokerage reported revenues up 52.6%, topping estimates by 6.5%. Nike traded up 6.5% following the results while The Real Brokerage was also up 3.9%.

The outlook for 2025 remains clouded by potential trade policy changes and corporate tax discussions, which could impact business confidence and growth. While some of the consumer discretionary stocks have shown solid performance in this choppy environment, the group has generally underperformed, with share prices down 4.7% on average over the last month. Live Nation is down 4.1% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $173.80 (compared to the current share price of $149.53).
