Earnings To Watch: American Express Global Business Travel (GBTG) Reports Q3 Results Tomorrow

Business travel management company Global Business Travel Group (NYSE: GBTG) will be announcing earnings results this Monday before the bell. Here’s what to expect.

American Express Global Business Travel met analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $631 million, flat year on year. It was a strong quarter for the company, with full-year EBITDA guidance beating analysts’ expectations and full-year revenue guidance topping analysts’ expectations.

This quarter, analysts are expecting American Express Global Business Travel’s revenue to grow 2.7% year on year to $613 million, slowing from the 4.6% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.12 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. American Express Global Business Travel has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates four times over the last two years.

Looking at American Express Global Business Travel’s peers in the finance and hr software segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Marqeta delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 27.6%, beating analysts’ expectations by 9.7%, and Flywire reported revenues up 27.6%, topping estimates by 7.7%. Marqeta traded up 8.5% following the results while Flywire was also up 1.2%.
