SmileDirectClub to hire nearly 1,000 workers in Texas

Newly minted on the Nasdaq, SmileDirectClub — a company with a market cap of more than $4 billion — wants to make a big splash in Central Texas. If it creates the 850 jobs it promises, it would become the largest employer in the small town of Kyle.
