Dr. Myron Wentz gives multimillion dollar legacy gift to Children's Hunger Fund Legacy Foundation

By: PRLog

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 31, 2020 - PRLog -- Children's Hunger Fund Legacy Foundation (CHFLF) has received a multimillion dollar legacy gift from Dr. Myron Wentz, founder of USANA Health Sciences, Inc. The gift will be provided to Children's Hunger Fund over a period of ten years and will be used to support significant expansion to international and domestic programs. Dr. Wentz has stipulated that the ten-year Dr. Myron Wentz Legacy Initiative will begin immediately, in celebration of his 80th birthday this month.

Children's Hunger Fund (CHF), whose mission is to provide hope to suffering children, currently serves in 25 countries, including the US. The Dr. Myron Wentz Legacy Initiative will allow CHF to expand their international program services into more countries, establish in-country partnerships, and provide services to impoverished children and families. These would include self-sustaining programs, educational and medical support, orphan care, emergency feeding programs, and other wellness programs.

Additionally, the initiative provides for expansion of national programs, allowing CHF to serve large populations of impoverished children and families in the US. Another component of the Dr. Myron Wentz Legacy Initiative is to provide for organizational capacity building and to accomplish growth through increased technology and virtual training.

"Dr. Wentz has dedicated his life to alleviating pain and suffering in the world," said Dave Phillips, Founder and President of Children's Hunger Fund. "The provision of this incredible legacy gift is yet another example of his heart of compassion for the next generation, particularly children living in extreme poverty. This gift will have generational impact on a global basis, restoring hope to the lives of suffering children."

During his long-standing relationship with Children's Hunger Fund, Dr. Wentz has sponsored numerous projects to improve the lives of suffering children around the world. Medical Centers have been constructed in Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Uganda. Wentz Mercy Centers serve impoverished children in Romania, Albania, Myanmar, and the Dominican Republic. Construction is underway in Nepal, Haiti, and Peru. Dr. Wentz has championed the donation of more than $36.6 million in cash and nutritional supplements to Children's Hunger Fund through USANA and its charitable branch, the USANA True Health Foundation.

Children's Hunger Fund has served the needs of children through gospel-centered mercy ministry for more than twenty-eight years. Since 1991, 96% of all donations have directly supported programs that serve suffering children and families. The charity has distribution centers in San Antonio, Dallas, and at its headquarters in Los Angeles. At each center, bulk food is packed by volunteers into "Food Paks" (a box of up to 20 pounds of nutritious food). Food Paks are distributed to millions of children and families in need throughout the US and worldwide through a unique process, utilizing a Mercy Network of pastors and local churches who deliver the Food Paks into the homes of families in each region that is served.
