Armory Joins Initiative Bringing Open Source Software and Technology Standards to the Financial Services Industry

Leading contributor to open source continuous delivery platform becomes silver level member of FINOS

SAN MATEO, Calif. - March 25, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Armory, the enterprise software company commercializing Spinnaker, the leading open source continuous delivery platform, today announced that it has become a silver-level member of FINOS (the Fintech Open Source Foundation), a nonprofit whose mission is to foster adoption of open source, open standards, and collaborative software development practices in financial services.

"The financial services industry has been in the forefront of bringing innovative products and services to market," said Daniel R. Odio, co-founder and CEO of Armory. "With Spinnaker open source, development teams are able to ship better software, faster. We look forward to collaborating with the other members of FINOS."

Financial services teams around the world require policy-driven software delivery — from banks to credit card companies to credit rating companies. Armory provides policy-driven deployments that build security and compliance from the beginning of software delivery, resulting in both increased security and accelerated speed. In 2019, Armory was recognized for enabling continuous delivery in multi-cloud environments with Spinnaker when the company was inducted into JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Hall of Innovation.

"Armory provided immediate value with technical expertise, enterprise-grade software, and connectivity to the broader continuous delivery community," said Stephen Flaherty, Head of Core Engineering & Enterprise Architecture of JPMorgan Chase. "We are seeing a significant increase in both frequency and volume of releases with Armory's integration."

FINOS's goal is to move the financial services industry toward collaboration through open source and standards. FINOS members are helping to accelerate open innovation. With a silver level membership, Lee Faus, Field CTO of Armory, will serve as a representative on the FINOS governing board.

"Armory is the most recent to join our growing membership of over 40 financial and technology companies in our open source ecosystem," said Gabriele Columbro, executive director, FINOS. "We are bringing together a community that is now actively contributing to addressing challenges in the transformation of the financial industry."

Armory recently hosted a webinar called "FinTech: Continuous Verification and Declarative Delivery; Common Fallacies and Anti-Patterns in Continuous Delivery", featuring Lee Faus from Armory and Eddie Knight from Citihub Digital, as they looked at defining consistent policies across an organization to build composable, reusable states that can be mapped to security controls for regulatory and compliance needs. Find this and other webinars, like the upcoming one on March 31 with Faus and Kelsey Hightower, Google staff developer advocate, on "Implementing Consistent Releases with Deployment Verification," at armory.io/webinars
