Thrive Senior Living recognized with 2021 Great Place to Work Certification

Great Place to Work Institute has honored Thrive Senior Living with certification as a 2021 Great Place to Work. The prestigious designation is based entirely on the experiences of current team members throughout Thrive Senior Living communities. According to an early 2021 Trust Index survey of 685 Thrive employees, 77% of employees said it’s a great place to work – compared to 59% at average U.S. companies. Of Thrive’s employee participants, 92% also shared that they believe their work makes a difference in the lives of others and is more than “just a job.”

Great Place to Work, an independent research and consulting firm, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experiences on the job. These included employee pride in Thrive Senior Living’s community impact, the extent to which they trust leaders, the camaraderie amongst the team, the belief that their work makes a difference and feeling their work has significant meaning in the lives of others. Rankings are based on anonymous employee feedback representing the experiences of those working within the United States – rewarding companies who are inclusive to all employees, no matter who they are or what they do.

“After a challenging year for many in our industry, we can’t begin to explain the pride we feel to be recognized by our team as a great place to work,” said Thrive Senior Living President Les Strech. “Our team members work diligently to uphold our mission to redefine the industry’s view on aging by prioritizing human connections in our communities. Our leaders stand behind the belief that if we invest in creating a workplace environment where our people love coming to work, they will create a place where our residents love to live. This recognition confirms our work towards a culture where all feel valued and appreciated.”

Aside from building new friendships with teammates and residents that will often last a lifetime, Thrive Senior Living continues to enhance its workplace culture with programs that engage employees such as monthly culture calls with leadership, where topics are selected for discussion to produce thoughtful team-building conversations. Additionally, to reinforce positive work experiences, intentional hiring practices focus on a head-and-heart alignment with Thrive’s beliefs about aging and older adults. A push for full transparency between leadership and team members to harvest trusting relationships and effective communication always remains a top priority.

“Great Place to Work Certification isn’t something that comes easily – it takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place to Work. “It’s the only official recognition determined by employees’ real-time reports of their company culture. Earning this designation means that Thrive Senior Living is one of the best companies to work for in the country.”

According to Great Place to Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified great workplace. Additionally, employees at Certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
