The Savong Foundation Cambodia Provides Academic and Music Scholarships to Underprivileged Students in rural Communities

By: Get News
The Savong Foundation Cambodia (SFC) has been a 501c3 nonprofit for over ten years and supports highly motivated students to achieve professional careers!

Education is a fundamental right of all children. However, in many parts of the world, thousands of underprivileged children do not have access to quality and affordable education. This means that these bright and talented children are prevented from reaching their full potential to lead a stable life in the future. There are many nonprofit organizations in the world working to provide quality education to disadvantaged children and enabling them to become the leaders of tomorrow. One such nonprofit organization is The Savong Foundation Cambodia, which has established itself to provide academic and music scholarships to underprivileged students. This 501c3 nonprofit strives to make quality education accessible to the young bright minds of Cambodia and help them fulfil their dreams of professional careers in law, medicine, accounting, management, marketing, engineering, global affairs and music.

“We support underprivileged youth in Cambodia by providing scholarships for academic and arts education.”

The Savong Foundation Cambodia takes pride in working for Cambodian students, providing them with the opportunity to complete a high school education and continue towards earning  undergraduate and graduate degrees with the ultimate goal of becoming professionals in their communities. The scholarship program includes full tuition either to private high schools such as the Future Bright International High School or a university of their choice. Additionally, the SFC also provides school supplies and uniforms. Some deserving students are eligible to receive further support which includes paying for living expenses, transportation such as bicycles, and health clinic or hospital bills.

The Savong Program also includes music scholarships which it offers to students who are passionate about music composition.  By cooperating with The Nirmita Composers Institute, the SFC helps to nurture the next generation of Cambodian composers in Khmer traditional and Western art music genres. The Nirmita Composers Institute also supports and encourages cultural exchange among different nations in the region and within the global community.

The Savong Foundation Cambodia works closely with the Future Bright International School to place the scholarship beneficiaries in appropriate grade levels. The SFC also coordinates with the universities to discuss opportunities for more advanced students. Additionally, The Savong Foundation Cambodia is dedicated to actively recruiting  deserving female students who otherwise do not get access to quality education in Cambodia and traditionally get married at a very young age.

It is because of the utmost dedication and determination of The Savong Foundation Cambodia that high achieving students are able to get quality education free of cost and empower themselves and their families for a better and sustainable future.
