8 High School Girls to Tour the City and Connect with Business Leaders

ATLANTA & TAMPA, Fla. - March 15, 2022 - PRLog -- Founded in 2019, EmpowerHer provides mentorship for at-risk high school girls in Hillsborough County, Florida. The program's success now boasts three members of the National Honor Society, including president of the local chapter. After receiving school-board approval, eight members of EmpowerHer will be traveling to Atlanta, GA March 17-21, 2022 for a girls empowerment weekend. Through partnership with local businesses and organizations, the H.A.U.T.E. Girl Experience will provide a curated weekend of tours, visits, and activities rooted in empowerment and exposure.

H.A.U.T.E. -  Hopeful, Authentic, Unique, Teachable, and Empowered
Instead of a traditional Saturday morning meeting or after school event, the HAUTE Girl Experience was designed to provide maximum exposure to a different way of life. The trip includes visits to the High Museum Obama Portrait exhibits and the APEX Museum. Other notable activities include a luncheon at The Gathering Spot and a stop at For Keeps Bookstore on Auburn Ave.

"For more than 20 years, I've desired to help girls realize that their circumstances do not determine their futures. They can decide for themselves," states Lanita Lucas, EmpowerHer founder and Hillsborough County Schools Supervisor for Family and Community Engagement.  "This is a full-circle moment because one of my former students is joining us as a chaperone."

With fiscal sponsorship by the Justice For All Foundation, the HAUTE Girls Experience has been championed with an outpouring of generosity. Sponsorships and donations have made this upcoming weekend a tangible reality for the high school girls attending. Additional donations can be made at www.JusticeForAllFoundation.org and labeled "EmpowerHer".

About EmpowerHer: In 2019 Lanita Lucas identified the need for high-school girls to access high-impact, accountable and compassionate mentorship. She created EmpowerHer, a mentoring group focused on the betterment of girls ages 14 to 18.EmpowerHer is an extension of her middle school program, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Leader (2016). For the first cohort of girls, Lucas hand-selected 10 participants from Hillsborough County Schools, Florida's third largest public school district and 7th largest in the United States. The girls had previously been labeled as "the worst in the county". The program's success now boasts three members of the National Honor Society, including president of the local chapter.

About Justice for All Foundation: The Justice for All Foundation (JFA)  fosters a mission to provide quantifiable solutions in the social justice space. JFA challenges communities to champion economic and social justice by creating space for education and effective action.
