Bay Atlantic University and Unreasonable Kids partner with Youth Advocates Sarah Goody and Isha Clarke to Host an Environmental Advocacy Summer Camp

By: PRLog

WASHINGTON - March 21, 2022 - PRLog -- In conjunction with Unreasonable Kids College, Bay Atlantic University (BAU) announces the Environmental Advocacy Youth Camp taking place on the BAU campus from July 31, 2022, to August 5, 2022. The program is designed to educate students on all things from environmental stewardship to racial inequality and provide them with the tools needed to advocate for solutions. The hands-on learning experience through field trips and service projects aids students in creating their advocacy projects to present at the end of camp.

Instructors include youth activists Isha Clarke and Sarah Goody and Unreasonable Kids College founder and CEO Ateba Whitaker.

Isha Clarke believes it is essential to pair environmental activism with environmental justice, dismantling the system of oppression and maintaining a livable climate. She says, "Climate and environmental justice is about collective liberation. If we do not fight to dismantle the systems of white supremacy, colonialism, and economic exploitation that poison our communities and are responsible for creating climate change, none of us will survive."

Sarah Goody is also the founder of Climate NOW; an international organization focused on empowering young people to take climate action. "I am excited to share my social justice journey with Unreasonable Kids College and help youth examine their role in initiating change because age is just a number when it comes to being an environmental activist," says Goody.

The camp is open to students ages 13-17, and the application deadline is May 4, 2022. Participants who wish to complete early-bird sign-up may do so by April 4, 2022, to receive a discounted rate of $899. The regular fee is $999. Fees include room and board, meals, and transportation.
