ALTQ founders raise $1.2m seed fund for their digital startup Afwego.com in a bid to digitalize African small businesses

By: Get News
Afwego.com brings Africa’s most advanced web/app builder platform where African businesses can manage transactions smoothly by creating an online shop or app, showcasing their products, and tracking their customer’s orders –– all in a breeze.

Aziizi Kafeero and James Bala Katongole, the founders of ALTQ, announced that they had raised a $1.2m seed for Afwego.com, an all-in-one platform for African small businesses looking to thrive in the digital economy.

“Afwego brings a game-changing vision to the industry: it aims to migrate trade activities from informal to formal sector and is laser-focused on partnering with African governments to issue e-commerce business licenses and virtual addresses in order to address Africa’s unemployment gap,” explains co-founder Aziizi Kafeero.

Unemployment has been a pressing issue in Africa and has been buoyed by pandemic-induced restrictions, pushing for the need for swift issuance of e-commerce business licenses and virtual addresses to scale up business activities.

James Bala Kantogole, also co-founder of the digital startup, says Afwego.com is leading the revolution of digital migration for African small businesses.

“Businesses are struggling in Africa in terms of entering the digital world, especially in the wake of the COVID pandemic. According to data provided by the Digital Economy and Society Index, Africa presents the lowest usage data and access to digital and web services in the world. That’s where Afwego comes into the picture,” says James.

Afwego.com provides innovative solutions for creating and managing websites and apps for small businesses in Africa. Aziizi and James say the goal is to see that African small businesses can be digitalized at the lowest cost possible.

Afwego.com serves as Africa’s most advanced web/app builder platform. Africans managing their online business can now do it with a breeze with an all-in-one platform where they can create an online shop, web, or app, showcase their products, and track their customer’s orders.

“With discounts and coupons for their sales, Afwego gives African businesses the power to easily sell anywhere to anyone across the internet and around the world. They get to control everything from a single platform with centralized inventory, order management, and pricing,” say Aziizi and James.

As an online app builder, it offers more than 10,000 amazing apps designed, built, and published without a single line of code. This means users can create high-end mobile apps that are compatible with both Android and iOS platforms. Afwego.com features a drag and drop system that is extremely easy to use. Businesses will finally be able to create the exact website they have in mind.

Afwego.com also ensures fast and secure payments. Users can choose from mobile money, Visa, Mastercard, and more than 50 other payment card options to accept mobile money as well as credit payments conveniently and with top-level security.

Those who want to get started may call Afwego’s customer service or send an email to the Afwego team. Others who wish to learn more about Afwego.com may visit the website for more information.
