Voters Are Key To Upcoming Elections In Palmetto, Ga

By: PRLog

FAIRBURN, Ga. - April 24, 2023 - PRLog -- On April 29, 2023, the Vision Center of Hope, Inc, in partnership with Black Georgia Vote Project, will host a voter registration rally in Palmetto, Georgia from 9:00 am- 3:00 pm. Palmetto has a total population of 5,075. There is only 10% of the population that is registered to vote and uses a paper ballot system. In our recent civic engagement workshop, residents are frustrated and report wanting an updated voting machine and fairness in the process.  Our goal is voter outreach and education awareness to provide opportunities for the Black disenfranchised voters to learn about the election process, voter registration, and voters' rights and responsibilities. To learn more about our work, visit our website, www.visioncenterofhope.org.

"We're thrilled to work with the disenfranchised voters to remove barriers and educate them on their rights. Also, we will make sure all newly eligible voters know their rights and can play a critical role in our community's future," said Samantha Hudson, Founder of Vision Center of Hope, Inc. "We can't wait to see the positive impact of this project on disenfranchised voters and their participation in the upcoming November election.

Implementing voter education prepares voters with valuable insight into the candidates' platform and their intended service. Strengthening voter participation will increase voter participation, empower disenfranchised black voters, and will build more civic engagement for voters. It will also help disenfranchised voters to make educated decisions about the candidates and issues and shape the future of their communities and country.

From the President to Congress, all the way down to our local school boards, our elected officials have incredible influence over the issues and policies that affect our families and communities the most. Election Day is our chance to weigh in and take control over what is most important to us," said Hudson.
