By: PRLog

Nonprofit Pinwheel Place Plans Grand Opening of New Eatontown Nursery on Oct. 19 to Support Parents, Kids in Tough Times

EATONTOWN, N.J. - Oct. 9, 2023 - PRLog -- What: Pinwheel Place, a nonprofit organization based in Monmouth County, New Jersey, is hosting the grand opening of its new, licensed child care nursery that offers families free, temporary child care for emergencies. It is believed to be the state's only home-based relief nursery for families in need and is supported entirely by donations.

Why: The nursery is a safe haven for children when families face housing challenges, domestic abuse, medical emergencies, court appointments, job interviews and other urgent situations. Whether for a few hours or a few days, 24x7 care and engaging activities are available for children up to 6-years-old from trained child care professionals and volunteers.

When: The grand opening is 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19, with scheduled remarks at 4:30 p.m. Tours will be available.

Where: 53 Bayberry Court, Eatontown, 07724

Who: Pinwheel co-founders Lynn Hawkins and Quadhera Simmons, a mother-daughter team, started the nonprofit in 2016, fulfilling a shared dream to create a safety net for vulnerable families facing adversity, preventing child abuse and neglect. Hawkins has a long history of nonprofit experience and adopted Simmons from a group home when she was just an infant. This profound connection fuels their determination to make a lasting impact on struggling families' lives.
