Liberal Hollywood figures condemn Hamas as 'brutal' terrorists, call on Biden to leave no hostages behind

Many Hollywood figures signed an open letter Monday praising President Biden for supporting Israel in its conflict with Hamas and urging him to get all hostages home.

Gal Gadot, Bradley Cooper, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler and hundreds more Hollywood figures condemned terrorist group Hamas and encouraged President Biden to get all hostages freed in a new open letter.

"We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages," the letter read.

Entertainment industry leaders composed the public letter this week and published it on new website "No Hostage Left Behind."

Other Hollywood signatures included in the letter belonged to actors Aubrey Plaza, Bob Odenkirk, Constance Wu, Shawn Levy, Amy Schumer and conservative actor Dean Cain.

The letter opened with an expression of gratitude for four hostages that were recently released from Hamas weeks after they were kidnapped during the brutal Hamas attack against Israel that resulted in the murder of around 1,400 people in the Jewish state.

It stated, "Dear President Biden, We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity."

However, the letter lamented the over 200 hostages still in Gaza. "But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death."

"They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were slaughtered – women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded," it added.

It praised Biden’s leadership and support for Israel and innocent Palestinians, who have been oppressed by Hamas, stating, "Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza."

The celebrity-endorsed letter expressed a desire for "Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace" as well as their "Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas."

This is the latest of several high-profile celebrity-signed letters urging action on the Israel-Hamas war. Earlier this month, U.K. actors under the banner "Artists for Palestine UK," called out Israel for exacerbating the current crisis and accused world governments allied with Israel of "aiding and abetting" the Jewish state’s "war crimes" against the Palestinian people.

Another letter signed by more than 50 Hollywood A-listers including Cate Blanchett and Joaquin Phoenix urged Biden and other world leaders to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas for the sake of preventing the "killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians."
