MIDLAND, Mich., December 16, 2021 /3BL Media/ - A pair of groundbreaking technologies from Dow (NYSE: DOW) were recently honored with ICIS Innovation Awards, which recognize companies who are paving the way in product, process, and sustainability innovations across the chemicals industry. This marks the second year in a row Dow has received an award from Innovation Commodity Intelligence Services, better known as ICIS.

Now in its 18th year, ICIS Innovation Awards are given in five categories : Best Innovation by a Small or Medium-sized Enterprise (SME), Best Product Innovation, Best Process Innovation, Product with Best Benefit to the Environment and Sustainability, and lastly, Process with Best Benefit to the Environment and Sustainability. Dow’s products won in two out of those five categories: DOWSIL™ TC-4060 Thermal Gel for Best Product Innovation and SunSpheres™ BIO SPF Booster for Product with Best Benefit to the Environment and Sustainability. Five Dow technologies and products were also listed as finalists in this year’s contest.

The Best Product Innovation category highlights products that represent the next step in the chemicals industry by focusing on new offerings from companies at the cutting edge of the industry.

The Product with Best Benefit to the Environment and Sustainability recognizes companies that have incorporated the ideas of environmental performance and sustainability into their product innovation. The winning product displayed a distinct benefit to the environment as well as to the sustainability of the company and its customers.

“I am very proud of our teams for delivering market-driven, breakthrough innovations that are enabling market transformations in transportation, personal care, electronics, and more through materials science leadership at Dow with a focus on sustainable solutions for our customers,” said Jim Helwick, global director for research and development at Dow Consumer Solutions. “We are honored to receive these recognitions and will continue to innovate in collaboration with our customers and partners to positively impact people’s lives and the environment.”
