The author worked for 40 years in vehicle electronics and controls. His first project was testing the flight controls on the Space Shuttle. This is the ninth book Harbinger has authored. The book was written with the aim of creating a historical novel based on the untold story of Otto and Viola Schmitt and their role in winning World War II and establishing a medical device industry.. There's also particular excitement about this launch because rumors are circulating that both Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan are interested in developing this book into their next war movie..

M.A.D. Scientists--A Love Story focuses on the role of Viola Schmitt and her technical brilliance and determination to succeed despite the challenges she faces daily, being the only woman working in a man's military laboratory. Readers will likely find a particular interest in that the love between Viola and Otto was what gave them the strength to succeed, with most wanting them to fail. The book's cover art was created by Steve Womack and M.A.D. Scientists--A Love Story is being released by Insights on Innovation.

T H. Harbinger has a background working for 40 years in vehicle electronics and controls. His first project was testing the flight controls on the Space Shuttle. His last was designing controls for tractors and combines. Now, for the past few years, he has turned his technical and management skills toward writing and filmmaking. .. This helped shape the creation of the book. His experience and creativity blend into the story, offering a page-turning story that makes one feel as if at that moment in time.

When asked about why they wrote the book, Harbinger said: "We need these exciting true stories to encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The world works because of these great people."

Harbinger has hopes that the book will encourage students to study the sciences and enjoy a long career, as he did, in STEM. This positive outlook from the author is certainly a testament to their optimism, considering some of the mishaps during its creation.

It was after watching the movie The Imitation Game that he turned to his partner and said, "I know a story like that!" One year later, the book is ready.

In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking Professor Nancy Blake for their part in the creation of the book, saying: "I can research the stories, but it takes a literature expert to make it a book"
