Mr. Klitzke earned a bachelor's degree in political science from San Diego State University in 2011 and a Juris Doctor from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2014, graduating summa cum laude. He has received multiple awards for his professional achievements, such as Best of the Bar for achieving one of the Top 100 Verdicts in California in 2022, SuperLawyers Rising Star San Diego accolade from Super Lawyers for the years 2020 to 2024 and Neighborhood Hero for the City of San Diego in 2013.

Achieving Notable Milestones

Throughout Mr. Klitzke's career, he has achieved many notable milestones. One that he is particularly proud of is the Pulliam v. HNL Automotive Inc. case, which he litigated for approximately five years from the start of the case up to the California Supreme Court and United States Supreme Court. His client, Ms. Pulliam, had purchased a 2015 Nissan Altima from a dealership that had arranged financing and made false representations about the vehicle. She was able to sue both the dealer and the finance company. The case was successful, getting a judgment requiring the dealer and finance company to buy back the vehicle. On appeal, the California Supreme Court overturned two appellate decisions to hold the finance company responsible for paying all attorney fees incurred in the lawsuit (the dealer closed during the case).

Mr. Klitzke highlights the significance of this case for consumers in California. It empowers them by allowing them to retain an attorney with little to no upfront cost since the attorney can recover their fees from dealerships and finance companies upon winning the case. In other cases, Mr. Klitzke has also recovered significant attorney fees against dealership surety companies-yet another basis for consumers to obtain an attorney with little to no upfront cost.
