University of Phoenix College of Doctoral Studies Releases New Edition of Its Phoenix Scholar™ Academic Journal

Research publication assesses post-pandemic environment through the lens of industry

University of Phoenix has released the 13th edition of the Phoenix Scholar™ academic research journal. The issue content acknowledges the current turbulent global environment – volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, or VUCA, a concept grounded in classic leadership theories and used to describe the post-pandemic environment and residual effects on businesses.

“Since our world and economy has been so affected by the pandemic, we invited individuals to share with us their business-related research, best practices, and conceptual pieces focused through the lens of industry,” states Rodney Luster, Ph.D., editor of Phoenix Scholar™, and chair of the Center for Leadership Studies and Organizational Research (CLSOR) at University of Phoenix. “This Phoenix Scholar™ is full of thought-provoking ideas that take us into the realm of possibilities in a time where business is challenged more than ever, and as employees rethink their own motivations and desires for continuing or reshaping their career goals.”

The issue covers a variety of leadership topics focusing in areas of commerce, communications, social, and education, and features an in-depth interview on lifelong education with CLSOR Fellow Dr. Alana Morales.

The Phoenix Scholar™ journal is the academic research publication of University Phoenix’s College of Doctoral Studies and serves as the scholarly platform for communicating the results and outcomes of university research endeavors, and their relationship to the broader scope of learning and scholarship.

Three College research centers contribute to the publication findings: CLSOR, Center for Educational and Instructional Technology Research (CEITR), and Center for Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Research (CWDIR). As longtime leaders in online education, the university utilizes research to develop solutions in the core areas of leadership, workplace diversity and instructional technology to enhance student outcomes, improve communities and to help students, faculty and alumni grow in their career aspirations.
