Hospitals across four states recognized for superior patient outcomes in key specialties
Five Prime Healthcare hospitals rank among the best hospitals in their respective states in key specialties, according to new research released by Healthgrades. The rankings reflect Prime Healthcare's commitment to providing the best care possible and distinguish its hospitals among the leading hospitals for specialty care.
“At Prime Healthcare, clinical excellence and patient-centered care are integral to our hospitals,” said Sunny Bhatia, MD, President and Chief Medical Officer of Prime Healthcare. “The clinical awards we have received year after year demonstrate the dedication of our caregivers to providing the highest quality care and is reflected in the quality outcomes we deliver for our patients. I thank our leadership and hospital teams who have earned these recognitions for their commitment to the patients and families in all communities we serve.”
The Prime Healthcare hospitals receiving “Top 5” state rankings are as follows:
-
East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool, Ohio
- Ranked third in both Critical Care and Pulmonary Care
-
Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas
- Ranked third for Orthopedic Surgery
-
St. Francis Medical Center, Lynwood, California
- Ranked third for Prostate Surgery
-
St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri
- Ranked third for Orthopedic Surgery
-
St. Mary's Medical Center, Blue Springs, Missouri
- Ranked fourth for Pulmonary Care
“Healthgrades is proud to recognize these Prime Healthcare hospitals,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Hospitals with top rankings in their state deliver consistently superior outcomes for the patients in their community. Consumers should feel confident knowing that they have access to top-ranked care.”
Healthgrades evaluates hospitals solely on what matters most – patient outcomes – to determine the top-performing hospitals for specialty care in each of the 32 states assessed. Healthgrades' 2024 analysis revealed that patients who seek care at a hospital with rankings in their condition or procedure have a better chance of good outcomes than if they were treated at a facility that is not ranked among the top in the state. This widening performance gap highlights the importance of selecting a top-rated program.
