Former Defense Intelligence Agency Director Scott Berrier Joins Booz Allen

Brings deep experience across intelligence, national security and defense

Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) today announced that retired Army Lieutenant General Scott Berrier has joined the firm as a senior vice president in Booz Allen’s national security business. In this role, Berrier will support and expand business growth and development across Booz Allen’s federal clients with a focus on strategic direction for intelligence.

Berrier brings more than 40 years of experience as a joint intelligence operations leader, having most recently served as the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). In that role, he led more than 16,500 military personnel, Department of Defense civilians, and contractors in the largest transformation in DIA’s history focused on the pacing challenge, and positioned the organization for strategic competition. He also served as U.S. Army deputy chief of staff for intelligence, where he stood up the Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance (ISR) Task Force and created the Army Counterintelligence Command (ACIC).

“The intelligence community is facing a clear set of mission challenges as the nation pivots to strategic competition, ranging from collection and analysis to evolving cybersecurity threats and the weaponization of space,” said Tom Pfeifer, president of Booz Allen’s national security business. “Addressing these challenges requires not only innovative technologies to support accelerated decision making, but also people immersed in intelligence missions who understand how to integrate such solutions. Scott brings the leadership, mission understanding, and tradecraft necessary to support our clients in enhancing U.S. resilience and security now, and in the future.”

Earlier in his career, Berrier served as a general officer, leading Combatant Command and Sub-Unified Command Intelligence teams. He also served as commanding general of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and Fort Huachuca in Arizona, where he was responsible for more than 25,000 soldiers, civilians, and family members and spearheaded training for the Army’s Intelligence force.

“Booz Allen has been a trusted intelligence community partner for decades, playing a key role in applying emerging technologies to accelerate critical missions,” Berrier said. “I’m looking forward to bringing my experiences to bear in support of new missions to create a more agile and resilient intelligence community.”

Berrier was recently honored with the Order of Australia, presented by the Governor General of Australia, and was nominated for a similar award in Canada for his work integrating the Five Eyes into the U.S. defense intelligence enterprise.
