Fidium Introduces 8 Gig Fiber and WiFi 7 to Deliver True Multi-Gig Speeds to Every Device

Fidium today announced a major expansion of its 100% fiber-to-the-premise network services, introducing new 5 Gig and up to 8 Gig symmetrical speed tiers alongside next-generation WiFi 7 technology, which ensures customers experience multi-gig performance not just to their home, but across every connected device inside it.

With this launch, Fidium increases its maximum home internet speeds from 2 Gig to up to 8 Gig, representing a fourfold increase in peak real-world upload and download performance. At peak capacity, 8 Gig service is up to 120 times faster than typical cable internet, highlighting the performance gap between purpose-built fiber networks and legacy infrastructure. End-to-end fiber infrastructure also translates into stronger reliability and smoother performance.

The new flagship plans will begin rolling out in April 2026 to select fiber-eligible locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Texas and California, with additional markets to follow.

“We believe we earn customers by delivering a superior product and putting customers first,” said Dan Sumner, chief marketing officer at Fidium. “Fiber gives us a structural advantage over legacy cable providers that built their networks for television, not for today’s internet-driven households. With multi-gig speeds up to 8 Gig with WiFi 7 included, we’re raising the competitive standard in our markets again and redefining what premium connectivity should feel like.”

As device density, AI-powered applications, immersive entertainment and cloud-based work continue to expand, speed to the modem is no longer enough. Customers expect seamless, low-latency connectivity throughout their entire home or office. Fidium’s combination of symmetrical multi-gig fiber and WiFi 7 is designed to meet that demand.

“Speed leadership only matters if customers can actually feel the difference,” added Sumner. “An 8 Gig fiber internet connection paired with WiFi 7 enables families to stream multiple 4K or even 8K movies, compete in online gaming, power dozens of smart home devices, and run cloud-based work or AI tools simultaneously with the capacity and performance to avoid buffering, lag or drop-offs.”
