Steve Castleton selected as Top Philanthropist and Tactician of the Year by IAOTP

Steve Castleton, Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer at Dionysus Consulting, LLC, was recently selected as Top Philanthropist and Tactician of the Year for 2024 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the industry.

Inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself; only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities. All Honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over three decades of experience, Mr. Castleton is the Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer at Dionysus Consulting, LLC, which provides Internet political strategy dedicated to raising funds to elect state and national officials. Dionysus Consulting offers public relations services to corporations and not for profits to improve public and media perception, heighten brand value with targeted audiences, and publicize new initiatives.  In 2013, Inc. Magazine rated Dionysus Consulting, LLC as the 70th fastest growing company in the State of New York, in 2014 and 2016 Inc. Magazine again rated Dionysus as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S.

Mr. Castleton is also a Philanthropist and tactician who has consulted on numerous outreach, fundraising, consumer awareness, and crisis management campaigns for many Political, Fortune 500 and not-for profit organizations. Over the years, he has helped raise over $100 million.In 2000 Steve was recognized by the New York Blood Services for founding, developing and the implementation of the "Give A Pint, Get A Lunch" blood donor program. He was able to secure a donation of 60,000 value meals from McDonalds for 60,000 pints of blood.In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 Terrorist attacks, Steve was the coordinator for New York Blood Services in the collection of relief supplies on Long Island. Castleton supervised the collection of donations which resulted in 40 truckloads of supplies being brought to "Ground Zero." In the days immediately after the attacks, Steve went with the supplies and personally distributed some of them to the relief workers on the grounds of the World Trade Center.Steve was also the Event Organizer and On-site Director for the Houston Texans/NFL 1st Annual Military Appreciation Day which will was held on October 25, 2009. His duties on that day included coordination of activities for Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush along with the "live satellite feeds" from Basra, Iraq and numerous other logistics including a "live" satellite salute to President George H.W. Bush from the deck of CVN 77. In 2010 Steve performed the same duties for the Houston Texan's 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Day.

Since 2013 Steve has been the event director for both the New York Jets Military and First Responders Appreciation Day’s where he has coordinated the on-field and Satellite activities in Kandahar, Afghanistan, for our armed forces. He again performed these duties in November 2014 along with again coordinating all movements for the SECNAV. For the opening kickoff, the football was “launched” off the catapult of CVN 75, The USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier. 

Steve was also a nominee along with Roger Staubach and Christian McCaffrey for the 2021 NFL Honors Salute to Service Award. The Salute to Service Award presented by USAA acknowledges the exceptional efforts by members of the NFL community to honor and support U.S. service members, veterans and their families. NFL Honors, which debuted in Indianapolis in 2012, is the National Football League's annual awards show recognizing the NFL’s best players, performances and plays from the current season. 

In 2015, Steve coordinated the Internet Fundraising for the Tunnel2Towers Foundations successful efforts to pay off the mortgages for the families of slain NYPD Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos. In two weeks, over $860,000.00 was raised.

At the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival the documentary Hondros made its world premiere, and was the recipient of Audience Award for best Documentary. Steve is an Executive Producer on the film along with Jake Gyllenhaal and Gary Michael Walters. Chris Hondros was one of the best conflict photographers of his generation, having covered practically every major world event of his adult life. Beginning with the war in Kosovo in 1999, award-winning photographer Chris Hondros served as witness to over a decade of conflict before being killed in Libya in 2011. Hondros recently won prestigious awards at both the Vancouver and Hamptons International Film Festivals amongst others.His next film project was The Raining Season. Told through the experiences of an American mother who operates an orphanage in postwar Sierra Leone, this documentary film sheds light on how a government rife with corruption allows its most vulnerable citizens - orphaned children - to be used as pawns by crooked officials, illegal adoption agencies and human traffickers.

Steve has also done numerous interviews for organizations including Fox News, Fox and Friends, The New York Times, AP, MSNBC, Washington Post, Washington Times, Congressional Quarterly, Money Magazine, ESPN, News 12, Cablevision Neighborhood Journal, Campaign and Elections Magazine, Major League Baseball Network, The Des Moines Register, Newsday, The New York Post, The New York Daily News and FiOS1 News.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Castleton has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his accomplishments. Steve was awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Army Recruiting Command for his work in support of the troops and their families. In 2014, Steve was recognized by the United States Congress for his lifetime work in support of our Armed Forces.  In 2014, Steve was also recognized by the Suffolk County New York Police Department for his work in support for our Veterans and active-duty service members. In 2016 Steve was honored by the U.S. Army New York City Recruiting Battalion at their annual awards banquet for his "years of support, dedication and selfless service to the soldiers". In 2016, Steve was honored at West Point's Annual Gold Star Luncheon as the recipient of the United States Army's Commander's Award for Public Service for which he received a commendation, medal and ribbon from the Unites States Army.Most recently, Steve was presented with the Meritorious Public Service Medal from the Deputy Chief of Staff of the United States Army, for his "outstanding commitment to excellence, dedication to duty and selfless service".  This year, he will be considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. He will be honored at IAOTP's annual awards gala at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville this December for his selection as Top Philanthropist and Tactician of the Year.
