RSHC Promotes Eight Litigators to Partnership

Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP (RSHC) today announced that it has elected eight attorneys to its partnership, effective January 1, 2023.

This year’s partnership class is the largest in the firm’s history and includes attorneys from three offices. New partners Amy C. Andrews, Sarah E. Finch, Michael H. Fleck, Monique B. Howery, Lauren Jaffe, Allison N. Siebeneck, Jennifer Steeve, and Ariel Schepers Wilson are all accomplished litigators with experience across a range of practice areas including class action, commercial, intellectual property, white collar, and appellate work.

“This new partner class demonstrates the professional excellence and depth of our talent, as well as highlighting the strength and diversity of our firm and practice teams,” said RSHC Managing Partner Patricia Brown Holmes.

RSHC is ranked by Chambers & Partners as among the nation’s top firms in General Commercial and White Collar Crime & Government Investigations Litigation and was honored earlier this year as a Litigation Leader in three different practice areas: Class Actions, Complex Commercial Litigation, and Product Liability by the legal industry consultant BTI Consulting Group, which also recently identified RSHC, based on results of a survey of in-house counsel, as one of the legal industry’s “Frequently Recommended” firms in 2022. The firm has also been recognized for its inclusive culture and deep commitment to pro bono service with awards from Law360, the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms, and multiple clients.

The firm congratulates the following new partners:

Amy C. Andrews (Chicago): Amy is an experienced commercial litigator who focuses her practice on financial and complex commercial litigation for businesses large and small. Her advocacy has resulted in successful outcomes for her clients in matters with potential exposure ranging from the thousands to more than a billion dollars.

Sarah E. Finch (Chicago): Sarah defends large companies and organizations against class and individual allegations of fraud, conspiracy, statutory violations, and breach of contract. She has also participated in qui tam and PCI-DSS compliance investigations and litigated on behalf of cybersecurity and medical device companies seeking to protect their trade secrets at the trial and appellate levels.

Michael H. Fleck (Chicago): Mike concentrates on intellectual property litigation and other cases involving complex technical or scientific subject matter. Prior to being a full-time commercial litigator, Mike was a patent prosecutor. Now, in litigation, Mike leverages his patent prosecution experience and technical background to master the technical details in his cases and use them to his clients’ advantage.

Monique B. Howery (Chicago): With a perspective on risk management informed by deep experience in the insurance industry, Monique counsels clients facing complex commercial litigation, offering strategic guidance to advance their long-term business goals while protecting their legal interests. Serving clients across a range of industries, Monique focuses her practice on business disputes and litigation, including breach of contract cases, fraudulent transfers, tax disputes, and post-judgment enforcement.

Lauren Jaffe (Chicago): Lauren serves clients in matters from discreet internal investigations to large-scale class actions, leveraging experience as a paralegal for the Department of Justice, a student representing federal criminal defendants, a federal judicial law clerk, and an attorney working alongside an in-house compliance team. She practices in both federal and state court and maintains an active pro bono practice.

Allison N. Siebeneck (Chicago): Whether Allison is defending corporate clients in complex commercial class actions or seeking justice on behalf of wrongfully convicted individuals, clients rely on her versatile experience to get the job done. Allison devotes most of her time to class action defense, representing clients in state and federal courts across the country, as well as on appeal. She also represents a growing number of wrongfully convicted clients pro bono.

Jennifer Steeve (Los Angeles/Irvine): Jennifer handles high-stakes trial and appellate matters nationwide on behalf of major companies in a variety of industries, including aviation, finance, energy, and technology. Her practice includes a particular focus on complex commercial litigation, aviation defense, appellate work, and autonomous vehicles.

Ariel Schepers Wilson (Ann Arbor): Ariel handles all aspects of litigation, from counseling clients, developing case strategy, and conducting discovery, to defending and taking depositions, drafting pleadings and motions, arguing motions in court, and leading trial teams. She has successfully litigated cases in trial and appellate courts throughout the United States in a wide variety of areas, including white collar crimes, antitrust law, labor and employment, insurance litigation, malpractice, transactional work, franchise law, fraud, and general commercial litigation.
