The inspiration for the site stems from Pastor Jonah’s own dramatic spiritual journey. After being baptized at the age of fourteen, Jonah spent the next forty years running away from a version of Christianity that he found unrecognizable—one obsessed with punishment rather than the radical love he had read about as a teenager.
"I didn’t start this website from a place of comfort with Christianity; I started it from a place of deep disillusionment," says Pastor Jonah Years. "Like the prophet Jonah, I spent the bulk of my life running away because I knew enough of the Lord to be afraid, but not enough of His heart to trust. Now, after forty years of running, I have returned to the texts that first captured my heart to rediscover the One who still calls us with truth, honesty, and love."
