By: PRLog

DALLAS - Nov. 3, 2024 - PRLog -- The inaugural Girl Get Dressed Festival was a resounding success this past Saturday, November 2nd, bringing together a vibrant community of women for a day filled with empowerment, fashion, and inspiration at The Singing Hills Recreation Center.

The day began with an inspiring panel featuring the founders of Girl Get Dressed, Lisa Smith and Autumn Jackson, alongside an incredible lineup of female entrepreneurs, including Brittany Ward, Witnessa Taylor, Kristin McIntyre, Sherri Prillerman, Jasmine Holmes, and Rosa O'Neal. These dynamic women shared their journeys and insights, setting the stage for the rest of the festival.

Following the panel discussions, attendees participated in breakout sessions led by experts such as branding specialist Sherwanna Livingston and Bianca Davis, CEO of New Friends, New Life, an organization dedicated to combating sex trafficking. These sessions offered valuable knowledge and tools for personal and professional growth.

The highlight of the day was the Bald Boss Ladies fashion show, produced by Anita Hawkins, featuring stunning designs by Tami Cara, The House of Dasha, and accessories from And Made By Hand. The fashion show celebrated individuality and confidence, captivating the audience with its empowering message.

Adding to the excitement, a fashion panel hosted by beloved local radio personality, Nina The Emcee, featured celebrity fashion designer Tiffany S. Walker (Pink Lucy), who shared her expertise and insights to help the girls get dressed properly.

The festival concluded on a high note as Lisa and Autumn proudly presented a $1,000 check to the CreateHer Foundation, which focuses on empowering girls for a brighter future.

"Today was all about girls and women getting dressed from the inside out," said Lisa Smith. "We covered mind, body, and soul, and I couldn't be more proud of the connections we've made."

Autumn Jackson echoed her sentiments, stating, "The fun, community, and camaraderie here today were truly special. It's amazing to see so many women come together to uplift and support one another."

In addition to the inspiring talks and fashion events, attendees enjoyed a variety of local vendors, music, and food trucks. Parkland Hospital provided valuable women's health resources, offering information on everything from sexual health to building healthy relationships.

Mark your calendars for next year's event, scheduled for November 8th, 2025!
