Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness: Supporting Veterans and Families Facing PTSD and Other Mental Health Challenges

By: PRLog
Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness is a fundraising campaign and caving expedition with the goal of raising awareness and support for Canadian veterans and their family's facing PTSD and other mental health challenges.

CALGARY, Alberta - April 14, 2026 - PRLog -- The Hamilton Gault Memorial Fund (HGMF), in partnership with Canmore Cave Tours, is proud to announce the sixth "Into the Summit for Mental Health and Wellness" fundraising initiative. This unique caving expedition will raise awareness and funds for Canadian military veterans and their families affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), operational stress injuries and other mental health challenges.

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, 28 participants will venture into the Rat's Nest Cave – a wild and undeveloped cave under Grotto Mountain near Canmore, Alberta. At over 4 km long, Rat's Nest is one of the longest caves in Canada. Exploring this cave involves climbing, crawling, sliding and squeezing through water-worn passages past ancient cave formations.

All 28 participants are raising funds in support of this campaign. Proceeds will fund non-clinical therapies for military veterans and their families. Previous Into the Summit campaigns have raised over $180,000 – during which participants climbed to the summits of Mount Buller and Mount Farquhar, and underground through Rat's Nest Cave.

Each participant will have a personal fundraising profile on the campaign website, where supporters can read their story, track their progress, and make a donation directly in their name. Donations over $20 receive a tax receipt.
