Globe Life (GL) To Report Earnings Tomorrow: Here Is What To Expect

Insurance holding company Globe Life (NYSE: GL) will be reporting results this Wednesday after market close. Here’s what to expect.

Globe Life met analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $1.48 billion, up 3.8% year on year. It was a softer quarter for the company, with a significant miss of analysts’ book value per share estimates and a miss of analysts’ EPS estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Globe Life’s revenue to grow 3.7% year on year to $1.51 billion, slowing from the 5.9% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $3.25 per share.

The majority of analysts covering the company have reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Globe Life has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates three times over the last two years.

Looking at Globe Life’s peers in the insurance segment, some have already reported their Q2 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Progressive delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 21.3%, beating analysts’ expectations by 1.4%, and Travelers reported revenues up 7.3%, in line with consensus estimates. Progressive traded up 2.2% following the results while Travelers was also up 5.5%.
