FileHold enhances its Microsoft Centric Integration in FileHold 17.

The FileHold business plan is to be Microsoft Centric in the development and deployment of its Document Management Software. Version 17 takes that philosophy even further.  In the most recent product release, FileHold has introduced integrations with the Microsoft architecture, specifically Microsoft Teams and Entra ID.

FileHold became the highest-level development partner that Microsoft supports. In the past, this has been referred to as a Gold Partner. The FileHold software development environment is based on Microsoft’s environment, Visual Studio. The FileHold installation pre-requisites require Microsoft SQL and Windows Server.

Since inception, FileHold has been tightly integrated with Microsoft Office, allowing customers to move between MS Word and Excel seamlessly using either the FileHold interface or the Microsoft interface. The FileHold user icons are integrated right into MS Office, allowing users to add or open documents in FileHold without leaving Office.  For customers using Microsoft Active directory (AD) who want to have a “single sign on”, FileHold integrates with MS AD to achieve that goal. The AD integration allowed the categorization of user groups to correspond to FileHold group categories. When FileHold took its customers to the cloud, the Microsoft Azure environment was chosen for its sophisticated security, its many back-up capabilities, and geographic options.

With the introduction of FileHold 17 the Microsoft Centric environment takes another big step forward with two powerful Microsoft corresponding introductions.

Seamless integration with Microsoft Entra ID, Modern Authentication (External Identity Provider). Entra authentication establishes trust access controls, prevents identity attacks, and manages access to FileHold resources. Advanced authentication allows users to share a single sign on between Microsoft 365 and other Entra-enabled applications such as FileHold. FileHold / Entra takes advantage of the multifactor authentication customers have configured in their external identity provider to secure FileHold.

Microsoft Teams integration. Microsoft Teams is a common tool for SharePoint users to collaborate on documents.  It allows multiple users to edit documents at the same time. The FileHold integration with Teams allows users to apply controls to these documents as though working with them on a local workstation. In FileHold and Teams, users can start project documents in Teams and when they are ready for full records control, add them to FileHold in one step. In a document workflow, users can check documents out of FileHold and into Teams to allow collaborative revisions before checking them back in and completing the workflow activity.

FileHold empowers both desk bound and mobile workers to store and find their important documents, including e-mail, while maintaining tight version control and managed workflow.  FileHold is deployed in a customer’s own environment or on the Microsoft Azure cloud as a fully supported, secure, redundant and managed solution.  FileHold Systems Inc, www.filehold.com is a Microsoft Gold certified manufacturer of document management and workflow software for mid to large-sized organizations.  There are over 30,000 seats of FileHold software in production throughout the world.  FileHold software is the fast track to the “paperless office”, is easy to use and interfaces with third party applications.
