“Island Potcake Dogs” - Adorably One-of-a-Kind and Heart-Warming

By: WebWire

Stray animals are typically looked at with disdain and caution as they are often lacking in appearance and are fickle in nature, but the truth is that when given even an ounce of kindness and a chance to adjust to people, even strays can become part of one's family, as they seek to belong just like any other.

The wild dogs of the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands were nicknamed “Potcakes” due to their habit of sticking their heads in pots of food left out for them, and this book “Island Potcake Dogs” is dedicated to and inspired by those many dogs who persevere in the face of adversity and survive thanks to the efforts of the generous. Even stray animals have the right to be treated humanely.

The book by Mary Lee was made simple and meant to teach the readers the value of showing kindness to stray animals as they are living, breathing creatures, and it highlights how one's kindness can affect the lives of the less fortunate while keeping it light-hearted.
