Unfamous NY to host the 4th Annual Mothatruckin’ Art Show, Announces Addition of Mini Street Elements

The fourth edition of the Mothatruckin’ Art Show, an exhibition featuring works on mini trucks, will take place this year on October 22 and 23, 2022 and it promises to be the best curation yet.

United States - October 12, 2022

Unfamous NY, a local multi-disciplinary art and lifestyle collective based in Queens, New York is pleased to announce the fourth edition of its annual Mothatruckin’ Art Show. Every year, Unfamous NY gathers artists and art works of toy trucks customized to a scale of 1:43 highlighting a classic graffiti staple — the white box truck. This year’s edition of the Mothatruckin’ Art Show is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 22 from 6 pm -12 am and Sunday, October 23 from 12 pm - 10 pm at 188 Allen Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NY.

Inspired by the art seen on trucks throughout the city, the Mothatruckin’ Art Show features toy trucks as a canvas that capture the essence of New York graffiti and street art. The show is noted for how it brings back the nostalgia of New York in the 1970s and 1980s, when subways, trucks, and many streets were covered with graffiti.

“The box truck is unique in its own way,” explained Michele Shak, founder of Unfamous NY. It transfers from one borough to another, one city to another and often between states. This leads to a wide and expansive body of mobile historical graffiti and urban art. Influenced by the culture from our own communities, this show pairs unity and creativity while highlighting the urban canvas that is New York City.

The Mothatruckin’ Art Show is different this year. The show features additional street elements, such as billboards, post no bills construction fences, handball courts and gates. “We decided to switch things up a bit” says Michele, “because graffiti has changed so much and influences this new style of street art”. This exhibition aims to incorporate the best of both worlds, street art and graffiti while giving the viewer a feel as if they are strolling the streets of NYC.

The show will feature 143, Myizm, BG 183 Tats Cru, Chris RWK, Gouch, Ribs, Sweet Toof, Queen Jakee, MERLOT, MRS, Uncutt Art, SP One, Peter Paid, Sharpy, Chupa, Dest, YesOne, Lucky, AJ La Villa, Paolo Tolentino, Hektad, QuestionMarks, Zero Productivity, and a host of other artists.

The Mothatruckin’ Art Show will not only bring artists and art lovers together, but it will also raise funds that directly support the artists and the art collective. She further added that it is suggested to donate $5 at the door and a free RSVP is required. For more information, please visit https://www.unfamousny.com/ts4.
