Redbear Films & Original Content Studios Partners With SFO To Develop The Hawaiian TV Series, Ohana

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 22, 2022 / Redbear Films' Emmy® Award-winning producers PJ Haarsma and Drew Lewis have entered a partnership with the writing team Chris and Erin Mazzei at Original Content Studios and prominent Hollywood stalwarts Jon Sheinberg, Gwen Osborne, and Matt Feige at SFO Entertainment to develop the prestige television series, Ohana.

Ohana is a family crime drama about a mother of two in Witness Protection selling timeshares at a luxury resort in Waikiki in the 1990s. When the government leaves her high and dry, she chooses to join forces with the local mob to provide a better life for her family. Equipped with her intellect and unparalleled forgery skills, she will outsmart rival mobsters, corporate tycoons, and the FBI to protect her family. The only thing that scares her more than being killed or locked up, is losing her kids. Ohana will explore the themes of family, betrayal, sacrifice, evil, and power.

"It's an amazing story from Erin Mazzei. The characters are fascinating and the whole thing feels extremely cinematic." Says PJ Haarsma. "But what really drew me in was this idea of a show that finally shows the real Hawaii, not just the tourists view that most people see on screen."

Redbear has grown in recent years from a commercial production company to a hybrid agency that has verticals not only in production but digital marketing, TV production (Con Man), publishing (The Softwire), and original content (Couch Soup). "We've had success making great content in the past but this show is a different animal on the scale of shows like Ozark, Reacher, and Little Fires Everywhere." Says Drew Lewis. "We couldn't have asked for better partners than SFO Entertainment to help us bring this show to life."

Redbear is currently focused on its 4 verticals - marketing, original content, TV & Film, and publishing. Learn more about Redbear on their website www.redbear.tv.
