From the age of nine, Mr. Galli's maternal grandparents raised him to be a resilient individual with a formidable work ethic. They believed in the importance of higher education. In the 1970s, Mr. Galli's father was a victim of a violent robbery. While his father fortunately recovered, this incident led Mr. Galli to pursue a profession in law. Since the San Francisco district attorney ruled the incident a robbery instead of an attempted murder, the perpetrator would spend just two years behind bars. This decision, alongside Mr. Galli's passion for justice, pushed him to become a prosecutor.

From 1976 to 1978, Mr. Galli would first attend Foothill Community College in Los Altos, California, ultimately graduating with an associate degree in history with honors. By 1980, he received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in political science and government from the University of San Francisco. He would enter law school shortly thereafter, graduating in 1983 with a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law.

During his time at SCU, Mr. Galli acquired his first formal experience working in legal services. From 1982 to 1984, he served as a legal intern and certified law student at the office of the district attorney in Santa Clara County. In 1983, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Mr. Galli was admitted to practice in the State of California and the United States District Court of California that same year.

Throughout his tenure at the district attorney's office, Mr. Galli held several key responsibilities and assignments that highlighted his adaptability and deep understanding of criminal law. He served as assistant unit leader of the felony narcotics unit between 1986 and 1989. He would return to this unit and work again in that capacity from 2008 to 2010. Between 1989 and 1994, he was the first supervisor of the drug asset forfeiture unit and managed a $500,000 grant. Between 1998 and 2001, Mr. Galli offered his excellent services as the supervisor of the Welfare Fraud Unit. His leadership didn't end there, as he extended his contributions to supplemental roles, such as the Restitution Services Unit supervisor in 2007 and 2008. Holding various other case issuance and economic crimes unit positions, Mr. Galli showcases his dedication to justice. He also wrote many published articles on search and seizure law for CDAA. In 2021, he retired as a deputy district attorney while continuing to advise, teach, and write articles for law enforcement on Fourth Amendment issues. He has also authored the Search Warrant Law and Practice Manual, now in its fifth edition, since 2009.

Becoming a sought-after lecturer by the 21st century's commencement, Mr. Galli worked as an instructor at the Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation between 2007 and 2023. Sharing valuable insights as a technical adviser, he provided knowledge to aspiring legal experts in search warrant seminars under the California District Attorneys Association (CDAA). Many institutions, including Stanford University and several police departments and California district attorney offices, desired collaborative efforts with Mr. Galli, given his unparalleled comprehension of Fourth Amendment law.

Earning a feature in Insight Magazine, Mr. Galli also published an article in CDAA's Prosecutor's Brief magazine in October 2023. He titled his piece "Forced Blood Draws in Driving Under the Influence Cases." In 2011, he earned the Excellence in Training Lifetime Achievement Award from the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Mr. Galli's accomplishments didn't stop there. In 2016, he was named CNOA Region One Prosecutor of the Year by the California Narcotic Officers' Association. Throughout his career, he wrote over 2,200 search warrants and lost only one due to an officer committing perjury, further spotlighting his passion for legal accuracy and perfection.

Over the last four decades, Mr. Galli has observed many changes within the legal field. Law enforcement is perceived very differently now, and he notes a growing desire for more accountability within the sector. As he continues volunteering and offering services to the officers and district attorneys around California, he maintains his positive impact within the community.
