Black Hat Facilitates Donation of LEGO Sets to Local Las Vegas Children’s Hospitals During Black Hat USA 2024

Donations stemmed from partnership with Fairy Bricks as an extension of Black Hat events feature, Bricks & Picks

Black Hat, the producer of the cybersecurity industry’s most established and in-depth security events, today announced its recent donation of LEGO sets in partnership with Fairy Bricks, a charity dedicated to brightening the lives of sick children through LEGO. The donations took place during Black Hat USA 2024, which occurred at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from August 3 to August 8. On August 5, Fairy Bricks and Black Hat partnered with Nick Della Mora, aka BrickinNick, and donated hundreds of LEGO sets and stuffed animals to Sunrise Children’s Hospital and UMC Children’s Hospital as an extension of the Black Hat events feature, Bricks & Picks.

Bricks & Picks is a combined activity space for conference attendees to delight their playful and creative sides with LEGO bricks and physical locks. This activity area, led by experts in both fields, features competitions, hands-on demonstrations, and more. New for Black Hat USA 2024, Bricks & Picks featured a mosaic wall made of LEGO bricks that attendees built together by individually building small squares of the mosaic that were added together to create the full mosaic wall containing more than 75,000 pieces.

“Black Hat is deeply committed to supporting not only the cybersecurity community, but also the communities where our events take place,” said Steve Wylie, Vice President, Cybersecurity Market Group at Informa Tech. “By donating LEGO sets to bring joy to children at local hospitals, we hope to continue to positively impact the Las Vegas community.”
