Her education and experience
Dr. Phelan is a Boston native and brings a wealth of experience as well as a unique female perspective to the surgery practice. After receiving her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Biology, with a minor in Biomedical Ethics, Dr. Phelan focused her efforts on conducting clinical research at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical College. She is a devoted advocate for women’s health and has focused much of her research on improving maternal health outcomes and expanding research opportunities for women in medicine.
Dr. Phelan graduated medical school from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Following her passion for the aesthetic side of the medical field, Dr. Phelan completed a rigorous six-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Massachusetts, where she was also named chief resident. She then completed a prestigious fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital (MEETH), which is recognized as the oldest and one of the most esteemed aesthetic surgery fellowships in the country to further hone her practice.
